Are You Trying To Steal From My Store?

HOUSTON, Texas — (DMN) – Police in Houston arrested a Wal-Mart worker for running down a teenager in the store’s parking lot. The teen said the Walmart staffer did it on purpose on July 10 in the 9500 block of Rowlett Road in southeast Houston. Court documents say that Lance Ferguson, 33, who was with Walmart’s Loss Prevention team, accused 18-year-old Dominique Mason of stealing from the store. According to documents, Ferguson told Mason that he should “whip” his [expletive]. Mason reportedly left the store. Police said Ferguson didn’t stop there.

Documents say Ferguson got in his car and began following 18-year-old Mason during his walk home. Ferguson reportedly drove up behind Mason in a nearby parking lot and bulldozed him from behind. Mason said he was surprised. “Then (a) red four-door car comes out of nowhere,” explained Mason. “It was terrifying.” Mason admitted to stealing from the southeast Houston Walmart back in April. During the more recent incident, he denied walking out of the store with any stolen merchandise. “He said, ‘Are you trying to steal from my store?’ I said, ‘no’ and kept back walking,” Mason said. “I didn’t know he followed me until after I crossed.” Ferguson made his first court appearance on a felony charge of aggravated assault. He’s being held on $30,000 bail.
