I’ve worked for Walmart as a cashier for a few years. One day a customer came through my line with only a snow shovel in hand. I, of course, grabbed my handheld scanner and headed around the counter to scan it. After I had scanned the shovel and totaled her purchase, the customer looked me in the eye and politely asked, “Could you please bag this snow shovel for me? I don’t want it to get scratched.”
